Chris Rusk the Director Golf at Savannah Golf Links and Kimberly Nadeau contacted the Golf Industry Network and Pro Shop Magazine to let the industry know they have the spirit and will be encouraging their customers to get out and golf on May 28th. Rusk says “At Savannah, everyone who plays a round on May 28th will be entered into a draw to win a Fit-Bit.  In addition we are encouraging everyone to walk the course by giving all our walking players a free sleeve of balls. Nadeau says “their golf club will encourage golfers to move and to make them aware of the benefits of golf. They have chosen to organize a day on the theme of health. Each round of golf and basketball will represent a number of calories spent (based on reality). All calories spent on the day of May 28th will be counted and we will all try to achieve a goal of 500,000 calories in 24 hours. At the end of the day, we will send a check to Sport Loisir Montégérie to help young people in their mission to reach the Québec Games in golf. The amount of the check will vary depending on the final result of calories expended. In addition, during the day,  a private coach will be on hand to offer express consultations to clients who wish to do so. Her knowledge of coaching and nutrition will be shared with golfers to encourage them to maintain good mental and physical health”.
