PGA of Ontario Class “A” Director of Golf, Mr. Rob Moore (1965-2023).

Rob Moore passed away peacefully with family by his side at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener, Ontario at the age of 58 years. Beloved husband of Cara-Lee. Loving father of Kye and Jett, dear brother of John, Michael, Carl, Brendan, son-in-law of Peter van Rees (Virginia), brother-in-law Todd, and their families. Predeceased by his parents John Moore and Moya (nee Flood) Moore and mother-in-law Betty van Rees.

After a very happy, sports-filled childhood, Rob moved from Dublin, Ireland to Cambridge in 1989 to pursue a career in the Golf Industry. The majority of Rob’s career was spent at Deer Ridge Golf Club in Kitchener, ON where he was most recently Director of Golf.

Rob also achieved success as a competitive golfer throughout his career. Rob was known for his optimism, genuine love of people and his quick wit. He had a saying for every occasion and was a wonderful teller of jokes and stories. He loved to make people laugh. Rob was a principled man whose key values were integrity and kindness. He believed kindness could change the world; one interaction at a time. Every day he strived to have a positive impact on each person he encountered.

At home, Rob was a devoted Husband and Father who was always available to play with the boys, share his expansive wisdom or to learn the skills needed to tackle whatever reno project his wife dreamed up. We will miss him terribly but feel blessed to have him forever as part of our family. Please go out and spread some kindness today and every day in Rob’s memory.
