The first Canadian to be Captain of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club

Bruce Mtichell who was born in Western Canada and currently resides in Toronto is the first Canadian to be Captain of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews. Mr. Mitchell will also serve in an ambassadorial role for The R&A to support its work in developing golf around the world. He will attend R&A championships in the professional and amateur game.

A renowned businessman and member of The Toronto Golf Club said “It’s a massive honour for me to become Captain of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews as it is such a prestigious role. I look forward to representing the Club in the year ahead.”
