Congratulation to Golf in British Columbia for promoting Canadian golf properties during the PGA Show this past week.

For the second year in a row Golf in British Columbia understands the value of marketing and promoting their province to a world-wide audience of golfers and people who can influence golf travel decisions. Canada is an amazing golf destination and it amazes us at Pro Shop Magazine and the golfindustrynetwork.ca that the rest of Canada with all the magnificent golf courses and resorts cannot develop a business model that works for all and promote in-bound tourism.

The province of British Columbia is peppered with stunning golf courses – over 300 at last count – carved from an incredible variety of remarkable landscapes with renowned golf course architects. From the rugged, wave-smashed shorelines of Vancouver Island, the westernmost region in the province, to the gorgeous, ice-coated mountains that explode into the blue Kootenay Rockies skies, British Columbia is, unquestionably, one of the most beautiful, most natural, places on earth to play golf.

We are all well aware that other provinces have incredible golf properties and would welcome new business and golfers from around the world.

Every year we hear a wide variety of talk, and I must say only talk and little direct action, on ways to develop and grow the game in Canada. Maybe the first step is to learn a little about marketing and start promoting yourself. Congratulations to Golf in British Columbia for taking the lead.
