BC Brand BRDYZ is making their way across Canada one Pro Shop at a time.

What started as just selling a couple hats to friends and family has quickly turned into a Canada wide brand.

Jaime Jarvis with the help of his mom Deborah and brother Gordon have set out to make BRDYZ a household name for Canadian golfers. In December 2021, after having little success with launching a golf accessory business Jaime decided to shake things up a bit. Initially the plan was to find another already established brand to represent to golf courses in BC, but then he thought, why not just make his own.

“I had the idea of creating my own golf apparel brand, and I already had connections to manufacturers and getting quality products, but I had to come up with a name” explains Jaime. After a night of testing different names and logos, BRDYZ stood out by far as the favourite.

From that point, Jaime wasted no time and contacted his manufacturer for a test run of 50 hats which arrived on January 17.

“As soon as they arrived, I knew I had a product golfers would get behind” says Jaime.

From there, Jaime had the idea of delivering free samples to local golf courses but in a creative way. They put a hat in Happy Birthday bags and delivered them to local golf courses as a form of a birthday gift to the course managers. The unique strategy was well received, and within a few short weeks they had orders from 12 golf courses.

“Once I had our first pro shop orders, I thought why not go big. So, I started making my way through the ranks of Golf Town. Before I knew it I was on a video call with the head of men’s apparel for Golf Town and the call could not have gone better.” says Jaime.

By the end of February Golf Town had committed to their first order, and today you can find BRDYZ hats in every Golf Town across Canada.

“Apart of me can’t quite comprehend how this happened so quickly, and another part of me knew this was possible from day 1”. Says Jaime.

BRDYZ has also pledged to donate 15% of all sales to Canadian youth sports programs to help make sports and physical activity more accessible for all kids. Growing up Gordon and Jaime were challenged with some difficult times when mother Deborah was battling a 25-year drug addiction. Along with extremely loving family, and a dedicated father, sports played a massive role in keeping Gordon and Jaime on a straight path.

“Sports were our safe place, where we could go and sort of forget about everything else going on. We know there are kids in our community going through their own set of challenges, and we know getting involved in sports can build the strength to deal with them.” Says Jaime.

Jaime had set a goal at the start of 2022 to get BRDYZ into every golf course and Golf Town in Canada by 2025. Since they are ahead of schedule with Golf Town, they are focusing heavily in growing their golf course partners for 2023.

You can keep up to date by following @BRDYZapparel on instagram and the team plans on attending a couple trade shows this fall.
