Woodbridge

Back in June of 2005 the Toronto Board of Trade Country Club became the 27th member golf club for Clublink. ClubLink Corporation (“ClubLink”) (TSX:LNK) entered into a long term, 21 golf season lease with The Toronto Board of Trade for The Board of Trade Country Club (“Country Club”), effective January 2, 2006.

Since its opening in 1965, the Country Club (45 holes) has been consistently ranked among Canada’s finest golf clubs. The Country Club was designed by distinguished architect Howard Watson and is located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Humber River Valley, North West of Toronto in Woodbridge, Ontario.

The press release at the time of the agreement said;

“We think this is a hole-in-one for everyone involved,” said Glen Grunwald, the Board of Trade’s President and CEO, “Our members who use the Country Club get more options and access to other courses, ClubLink gets to manage a top-notch course in a great location, and the Board of Trade receives a steady revenue stream to help us focus on the core services our members value most such as our advocacy programs, speaker series and networking events”.

The Country Club will be managed by ClubLink on behalf of the Toronto Board of Trade for 2005 and the Country Club will become a ClubLink Gold Member Golf Club in 2006. ClubLink Board of Trade Country Club memberships will be accepted immediately, with new members playing at option home clubs within the ClubLink system for the rest of 2005.

Robert Poile, President and CEO of ClubLink said, “We’re thrilled to welcome the Board of Trade Country Club to our family as our 27th Member Golf Club. This is one of the finest golf clubs in Canada and we look forward to the opportunity to build on that great legacy.”

The purchase of The Country Club Golf Course in Woodbridge led by the RGF Real Estate Fund L.P. was officially completed on May 3, 2017. The 290-acre property is a coveted parcel of prime land along the Humber River within the exclusive community of Woodbridge in Vaughan. The potential area for development is approximately one third of the acreage.

Clubhouse Developments Inc. plans to create a residential enclave with a blend of family homes and a green space accessible to the community.

RGF President John A. D’Angelo says, “Low-rise housing inventory is down 65% year over year in the GTA. With this shortage and an 8% population increase in Woodbridge alone in the last five years, this rare land opportunity can help fulfill the growing need for desirable housing in Ontario.”

Future residents can look forward to life in the thriving community of Woodbridge, with excellent schools, business and employment opportunities; exceptional shopping, restaurants and entertainment; and easy access to the great outdoors in parks and conservation areas.

Development is not slated to commence immediately.
