During her week at the CP Women’s Open, Alena Sharp paid tribute to the 16 people that died on the April 6 bus crash involving the Humboldt Broncos hockey team. Sharp said “I totally was thinking about them all day. Even on the last putt.” “I wrote 16 on my ball just to give me a reminder of it.”
Sharp played this year’s Canadian championship with a golf bag that featured the Broncos’s green and yellow colours and team logo. The bag is being given to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital and will be auctioned off at a fundraiser next month.
