Golfers in the Owen Sound area will have another loop to tee off at this spring.
Stone Tree Golf and Fitness plans to re-open its course for the first time since it closed in 2015 after former owner Balanar Management shut down operations to facilitate the sale of Legacy Ridge Golf Club.
According to a past Bayshore Broadcasting report, Balanar Management then sold Stone Tree, including an apartment complex, fitness centre, banquet facility and more than 200 acres of land, the local businessman Jeff Mundle.
It was then sold again in 2016 to current owners Lori Vulcanescu and Gordon Fawcett.
Stone Tree Director of Golf Operations Bill Stewart says preparations began more than a year-and-a-half ago to ensure all necessary permits are in place and begin repairing the course that was not maintained since it was shut down.
