Radium’s two golf courses are now under the management of a hotel and marketing company based in Radium Hot Springs.
The Radium Golf Group, consisting of the Radium and The Springs golf courses, will now be overseen by True Key Hotels & Resorts Ltd., whose flagship property, Bighorn Meadows Resort, is located along the 9th hole of The Springs golf course.
The announcement, made February 2nd, states the Radium-based business will oversee operations of both courses, food and beverage services, grounds keeping, as well as marketing, accounting, administration, and human resources functions.
“The expertise and skills True Key has developed through its management portfolio is easily extendable to the golf industry,” said Michael Anderson, president of True Key. “We are looking forward to working more closely with the Radium Golf Group and continuing along the path to growth and success at their iconic golf operations.”
Steve Haggard, manager and head professional at The Springs golf course, said it is a good move for the local courses.
“We are excited about the opportunity,” he told the Pioneer.
Andrea Tubbs, director of sales and marketing for True Key Hotels & Resorts Ltd., says from a golfer’s perspective, not much should change with the shift in management.
“We’re looking to keep business as usual, staff as usual,” said Ms. Tubbs.
Ms. Tubbs explains the company, which was established in 2010, has been looking to diversify and expand their business and this was a good opportunity as they have worked closely with the owners of the golf courses over the past few years. The discussion about the new arrangement got serious approximately two months ago, Ms. Tubbs reports.
The Radium Golf Group owns and operates both the Radium course and The Springs course, each with its own unique characteristics and appeal for golfers.
