The PGA Tour is expected to release their 2024 schedule within the next few weeks. As tour executives continue to sort out legal issues and come to an agreement with LIV and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) industry sources have told Pro Shop magazine they are hearing the 2024 RBC Canadian Open at Hamilton Golf and Country Club will move to a week earlier placing the event at the end of May.
RBC is the title sponsor of the event and their contract ends this year. Due to the ongoing negotiations with PIF and the various issues that need to be worked out, industry conversations and speculation does not see RBC ending their title sponsorship. Many marketers believe RBC will take a wait and see approach as they have made a large investment into golf. RBC will probably work out a one-year extension now and a longer-term agreement will depend on the outcome or fallout with the Saudi’s.
For the 2025 Canadian Open there have been a few host facilities mentioned but speculation within the industry has The Pulpit Club in Caledon Village, ON. as the host club. This year The Pulpit Club is hosting the 118th Canadian Men’s Amateur and will give officials some insight on the property as they prepare for 2025.
