One of Saskatchewan’s largest resorts, the 479-acre Elk Ridge Golf and Conference Centre near Waskesiu Lake, is for sale.

Founded by Arne Petersen in the early 1990s, the resort is now a featured listed property on the Colliers Saskatoon website.

A Colliers realtor confirmed there is no asking amount listed for the property.

Attempts to reach the resort’s management and owners for comment were not successful by press time.

The site includes the Elk Ridge Lodge, which has 34 guest rooms, a 27-hole golf course, an aquatic centre, an adventure park, a spa and various trails. The property also includes 19 town homes and 20 cottages.

According to the brochure, the ownership “invites potential purchasers to submit an offer. All offers will be entertained.” It says future projects and development plans include a 34-unit expansion to the Elk Ridge Lodge, 56 future condo units and cabin expansion sites.

The resort is a short drive from Prince Albert National Park and about an hour’s drive northeast of Prince Albert. It has been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic since March 26. A March 26 post on its Facebook page said the resort planned to start taking new bookings on May 15.

A 2008 Regina Leader-Post story pegged the development’s cost at between $60 million and $70 million, and put the price tag for the hotel alone at $12 million.
