Copper Creek Golf Groups sells Peninsula Lakes Golf Club to the Fallsview Group

In 2017 there was not much growth in public golf in Ontario. The Copper Creek Golf Group made significant investments in four public courses in Greater Toronto and Niagara. Watson’s Glen in Pickering, Upper Unionville in Markham, Peninsula Lakes in Niagara, and Copper Creek in Kleinburg are the four founding clubs of the Copper Creek Golf Group.

Pro Shop magazine has learned that as of May 1, 2023 Peninsula Lakes will be owned and operated by the Fallsview Group out of Niagara. The Fallsview Group is one of the leaders of hospitality and tourism in Niagara. They presently own and operate eight hotels, twelve food and beverage outlets, multiple gift shops and a tour company with a fleet of twenty busses.

Sources tell Pro Shop magazine that green fee rates at Peninsula Lakes have surged to the highest in the area. Last year the green fee rate was approximately $75 and now weekend green fees are $165.00. Similar Niagara area courses currently have green fees ranging from a low of $60 to a high of $115. It is also rumored but unconfirmed that to play Peninsula Lakes next season you may have to spend a night in one of their hotels. Pro Shop magazine reached out to Peninsula Lakes Golf Club and Fallsview Group for confirmation but did not receive a response prior to publishing deadlines.
