City of Regina requesting input on Regent Par 3 Golf Course land development

The City of Regina is seeking public input on what to do with the land currently utilized by the Regent Par 3 golf course.

The City has four development plans residents are able to choose from for the future of the site. The plans include recreational space, with some including either seniors living, town houses or a combination of both.

City spokesperson Janine Daradich said they heard from the community that recreational space in that area is important.

“We’ve included the top options from the community, they include things like walking paths, picnic areas, a large playground and spray pad area.”

Daradich said there has been some groups that wanted to see the golf course stay.

“What was most important to them was that we keep recreation amenities for the community,” Daradich said. “We’ve incorporated all of those top options that the community brought forward as part of our other workshops that we had.”

Daradich said there are no plans yet on how the seniors living or town house buildings could be built.

“What we’ve put forward for consideration by the community is that there would be some type of seniors housing or town houses or a combination of both,” Daradich said. “Details on those developments would be worked out through the planning process.”

A public consultation meeting will be held at the Gathering Place Gymnasium Tuesday at 6:30. Residents are also able to have their say online on the city’s website.
