The Canadian Golf Industry Association (CGIA) who at one time boasted over 60 Canadian golf industry manufacturers and distributors decided to disband the association this past December. In addition to trying to control the buying shows, sharing market information, the association’s main benefit was to obtain SICA (Sports Industry Credit Association) financial information at a reduced fee.
Keith Kendall, former President of Callaway Canada was the Executive Director of the Association. Pro Shop Magazine and the Golf Industry Network were unable to reach Kendall for a comment.
The CGIA was also part of the National Allied Golf Association (NAGA) which includes other golf industry associations.
Over the past number of years there have been numerous changes in the golf industry and membership in the CGIA declined for various reasons. In December current members decided to disband the association.
