McCall Lake Golf Course in Calgary fully opens after $6.7M makeover

The newly renovated McCall Lake Golf Course opened Tuesday for play on all 18 holes.

The public 18-hole course in the city’s northeast is fresh off a $6.7-million makeover to upgrade its greens, tees and fairways.

Frank Tigley has been golfing at McCall Lake since it opened the early ’80s. Today he was part of the first group to tee off at the fully re-opened and re-designed course.

He likes what he’s seen so far.

“It’s a very accommodating golf course and the layout is excellent,” Tigley said.

The clubhouse and driving range as well as the pump stations were also upgraded.

Traps and hazards on the 38-year-old course were moved to better match modern driving distances, and new forward tees were added to accommodate a broader range of skills.
