Scotland has a good idea for promoting golf tourism. Maybe it’s time for Canada to start promoting inbound tourism and help golf courses.

When I visit the PGA Show in Orlando each year, I always wonder by the travel section and see almost every country in the world promoting and selling their beautiful golf courses and country. Unfortunately you can’t find Canada. Why? We have asked this question to Golf Canada, Tourism Canada and written about it many times but nothing seems to happen. Maybe it’s time some of these groups change priorities and use their various resources to promote inbound tourism to all provinces and help golf clubs – your stakeholders and members put more people and groups on golf courses in Canada. The following is an article I saw about Scotland and how they celebrate and promote tourism in Scotland. Would that not be great if Canada did a similar program?  Maybe we will ! Stars Of Scotland’s Golf Industry Celebrate At Scottish Golf Tourism Awards

The 2017 Scottish Golf Tourism Awards Gala Dinner was attended by more than 350 guests from across the Scottish golf scene at the Trump Turnberry Resort on Thursday October 26th 2017.

The glittering event, hosted by renowned Scottish golf broadcaster Dougie Donnelly, was the culmination of the second annual Scottish Golf Tourism Week organised by PSP Media Group and supported by VisitScotland and Scottish Enterprise.

There were 14 awards in total, chosen by voters from across the industry.
