Pro Shop Magazine has learned that this will be the last season for the Ridge at Manitou Golf Club, located about 20 minutes east of Parry Sound, near McKeller Ontario. If a buyer or developer is not found before the end of the season, the course will be closed and will not re-open for the 2018 season.
The Petersen family who own the course recently told members that their family has come to the realization that it is time to set new priorities going forward. Mr. Petersen’s health, and other family factors, was a big part of this decision.
The family is now openly and actively seeking a group capable of taking the course to the next level and hope that goal will be met over the next few months so that The Ridge will continue.
If a buyer or development group is not found before the end of the season, the course will be closed on Thanksgiving 2017 and will not re-open for the 2018 season.
