With businesses severely affected by COVID-19 the annual golf tournaments in support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada were also cancelled. In partnership with Royal Bank of Canada and Cobra Puma Golf, Golf Gives Back was created to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada and make golf more accessible for youth.
Golf Gives Back serves two main purposes. The first, and most important, is to help The Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada. They really do some amazing things, but due to the pandemic they lost out on $500k from their cancelled charity golf tournaments, and this shortfall deeply affects what they can do for so many kids. The second purpose is to help grow junior golf by providing our golf course partners with sets of junior clubs for families/kids to use for free. We have great partners providing prizes like a trip-for-2 to the 2021 Masters from Golf Away Tours and over $75,000 in other great prizes.
Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada
As Canada’s largest child- and youth-serving organization, Boys and Girls Clubs provide vital programs and services to over 200,000 young people in 775 communities across Canada. Through life-changing programs, community-based services, and relationships with peers and caring adults, Boys and Girls Clubs help children and youth develop the skills they need to succeed. During critical out-of-school hours, our Clubs help young people discover who they are, what they can do, and how they can get there. Our trained staff and volunteers give them the tools to realize positive outcomes in self-expression, academics, healthy living, physical activity, mental health, leadership, and more. Since 1900, Boys and Girls Clubs have opened their doors to children, youth, and families in small and large cities, and rural and Indigenous communities. If a young person needs it, our Clubs provide it.
