Latest Acquisition Fuels Rapidly Expanding Presence in Canadian Golf Market
Golf Genius Software announced today that it has acquired the assets of Impact Tournament Systems, Inc. (ITS) of Calgary, Canada. ITS is a leading provider of desktop tournament management software to the Canadian golf market.
“Impact Tournament Systems is a very successful supplier of desktop tournament management systems, and their product capabilities are very complementary to those of golfscoring.net, a Canadian firm that we acquired earlier this year”, commented Mike Zisman, founder and Co-CEO of Golf Genius Software. “ITS customers will now be able to easily migrate to our cloud-based, industry leading tournament management system”, Zisman added. “In the interim, the ITS team led by co-founder and CEO Brian Haydamack will continue to support ITS customers.”
“We built a great desktop tournament management but it is clear to us that the market is evolving to cloud-based platforms, and we see this trend accelerating due to the new demand for ‘contactless golf’ solutions,” commented Haydamack. “Our goal is to provide a smooth migration path for our customers to a cloud-based solution, and we believe Golf Genius is the ideal partner. They have a strong presence in Canada and a rapidly growing number of highly satisfied customers. Their tournament management product features, such as ‘access from anywhere’, live mobile scoring, online registration and payments, personalized text messaging and email, and deep integration with other club systems are just some of the cloud-enabled capabilities that will be highly valued by our customers.”
For the remainder of 2020, ITS customers will be able to renew their annual subscriptions and will be supported by the ITS team. ITS customers will immediately have the option to migrate to Golf Genius Tournament Management, and the ITS team is fully prepared to assist in this straightforward migration.
In addition to acquiring the assets of ITS and golfscoring.net, Golf Genius also acquired the assets of U.S. based Tournament Expert in March 2020. The Tournament Expert acquisition similarly provides a migration path from legacy desktop software to a modern cloud-based platform, and Tournament Expert customers have already begun successfully converting their tournament management operations to Golf Genius.
