It has been a summer of celebrations at Earl Grey Golf Club.
For good reason.
After all, you only mark your centennial season once.
“We have some members that remember the days when Earl Grey had two 18s, before Glenmore Trail split the Lakeview Nine in half and half went to the city and half went to us,” said Richard Arnold, the first-year general manager at Earl Grey. “They remember two or three clubhouses ago. So it has been really cool to hear them talk about the history of watching the club grow up.
“And what I think stands the test of time is the club culture — being close to downtown and a social environment. I think that rings true even more so now, with a lot of young families joining.”
The roots of Earl Grey GC date back to 1919, but there is also a brand-new feel around this private facility in the southwest community of North Glenmore Park…….
